I work for a cable company and we provide a voip telephone service. I can't number the times I have suggested that a customer go to voip mechanic for additional information on something that they needed help with after I gave them some help. Its always been a great resource for me and for my customers. Thanks a million!

What else can I say, thank you so much for the good information. It is been very very helpful for me, I learn a lot about VoIP troubleshooting and configuring network. Pretty straight forward, you don't even have to be a tech savy to follow all these instruction. Very good site and I will keep coming here for more update information. Again thank you and Good job.

Your info was a great start. The parameter settings on the HP6110 did not work until I used a value of 1 instead of 2. I found this listed on another forum.

I've set up VOIP recently. I can make outgoing calls, but no incoming traffic although the phone (connected to ATA works). The Netgear routers is a suspect. I'll use the tips on your site to see if I can nut it out. Hope to post an update whichever way it goes.

I have a HP fax machine and after doing some research realized that I might get to work by reducing the baud rate to 9600. I called HP, but because my fax is 2 years old they weren't very helpful. I found your site and the information I needed. Thanks

Your recommendations for subscriber equipment should also include an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for the DSL/Cable Modem and VoIP Adapter. This device provides battery backup for times when the electric power is not working. Don't forget this important item -- you will be glad you have it if you need to call 911 when your power is out.
